Thigh Lift
Conveniently located to serve the areas of San Antonio, TX
Those who have experienced a substantial weight loss often experience excess, sagging skin on the upper thighs. Not only can this issue cause self-consciousness, it can also make fitting into clothing difficult. A thigh lift can remove excess skin and fat from the inner and outer thighs for a more proportionate silhouette.

Who is a Good Candidate?
Those who have loose skin on the thighs due to weight loss or aging can often benefit from a thigh lift. Candidates may feel self-conscious due to the skin laxity on their thighs or feel that their body silhouette is not proportioned. A consultation with Dr. Homas or Dr. Brostrom is the best way to determine if a thigh lift is right for you.
The Procedure
Thigh lift incision patterns will differ depending on the area that needs to be treated and the amount of sagging skin that needs to be removed. In general, there are two incision patterns that can be used: the inner thigh lift incision and the outer thigh lift incision.
Inner Thigh Lift Incision: An incision is created in the groin area, and excess skin and fat are removed along the inner thigh. Liposuction may be involved, depending on the amount of excess fat present.
Outer Thigh Lift Incision: This procedure is typically done during a lower body lift, and involves an incision extending from the groin, around the hip, and to the back. This allows the buttocks to be re-contoured along with the outer thighs.
All incisions created in the thigh lift procedure will be placed as inconspicuously as possible, and clothing can be used to cover scarring.
Recovery
Immediately after a thigh lift, you may experience bruising, swelling, and soreness. Pain medication can be used to remedy discomfort, and a compression garment will be worn to help reduce swelling. Heavy lifting and jogging should be avoided for 6-8 weeks, though you may resume driving after 2-3 weeks. Be sure to follow Dr. Homas’ or Dr. Brostrom’s post-op instructions to ensure a safe recovery!
