About CoolPeel

CoolPeel uses advanced Tetra PRO CO2 laser technology that emits short, high-energy pulses to remove the superficial layers of the skin without causing excessive damage. It offers significant improvements without requiring the intensity of other ablative treatments that result in lengthy downtime.

CO2 lasers are often considered the “gold standard” of skin treatments because they are highly effective at diminishing common skin concerns while optimizing the overall quality of your skin. (1) The CO2 laser works by heating the water in skin cells, which vaporizes old skin at the surface and heats the deep layers. This process stimulates collagen production, which can tighten, encourage cell turnover, and promote faster healing. (2)

As CoolPeel unveils fresher, healthier-looking skin, deeper skin layers begin this renewal process to address stubborn issues such as wrinkles, age spots, dark spots, acne scars, uneven texture, and more.

CoolPeel delivers its benefits without any downtime. As the laser emits heat, the device also cools the skin, offering a more comfortable and less damaging experience.

Benefits

With CoolPeel, patients experience benefits such as:

  • Reduced signs of aging
  • Diminished sun spots
  • Improved collagen and elastin production
  • Tightened skin
  • Rejuvenated skin
  • Smoother texture (3)
  • Minimized acne scarring
  • Receiving a safe, effective treatment for all skin types with minimal downtime

Candidates

If you have fine lines and wrinkles, uneven skin texture, sun damage, enlarged pores, and mild to moderate skin laxity, you might be a great candidate for CoolPeel. This treatment is also ideal if you are looking for a “prejuvenation” or maintenance skin treatment, if you are looking for a non-surgical procedure with no downtime, or if you want to address early signs of aging.

You should be in relatively good health and maintain realistic expectations for your results. CoolPeel is considered to be safe for all skin types; however, if you are experiencing active skin infections, deeper scarring, more advanced skin laxity, or are pregnant or nursing, you may be advised to delay treatment.

Personal Consultation

During your personal consultation, your skin specialist will evaluate your medical history, examine your skin concerns, and discuss your treatment goals. After assessing your skin health, they will create a personalized treatment plan. They will also address any questions or concerns you may have so you feel comfortable and confident with your treatment plan.

Preparation

Successfully preparing for your CoolPeel laser treatment optimizes results and ensures a smooth recovery. Your skin specialist may advise you to:

  • Avoid excessive sun exposure and tanning beds at least two weeks prior to treatment
  • Pause the use of retinoids, chemical exfoliants, or harsh scrubs at least five days in advance
  • Avoid blood-thinning medication or supplements
  • Use broad-spectrum sunscreen and gentle moisturizers in the days leading up to your appointment
  • Avoid waxing or other aggressive treatments
  • Arrive at your appointment on time with a clean face free of makeup

Procedure

Your skin specialist will begin your procedure by cleansing your skin to remove excess oil, residual makeup/skincare products, and general debris. The CoolPeel laser has added features to make treatment more comfortable, so anesthesia is not typically necessary.

You will receive protective eyewear, and then your skin specialist will pass the Tetra CO2 laser over your skin. Most CoolPeel sessions are quick, only lasting between 10 and 20 minutes. During the process, you may feel a mild warming or tingling sensation, but the added cooling features keep this at a comfortable, gentle, controlled level. Afterward, they will apply a gentle, calming ointment to hydrate and soothe your skin.

Results

Because CoolPeel does not require any downtime, you can return to your normal daily activities immediately after. However, you should follow the provided guidelines to support healing and optimize your results. Your skin may look a bit red and feel slightly warm, similar to a sunburn. Light skin flaking and dryness are also normal—these are common signs of the skin renewal process and often subside after a few days. In the meantime, you should refrain from picking or scratching at your skin to allow for the best possible results.

Post-procedure, you should continue to use a gentle cleanser and apply ample moisturizer. You must also avoid direct or excessive sun exposure and wear strong sun protection (SPF 30 or higher).

CoolPeel can significantly rejuvenate the skin after just one session, but a series of three CoolPeels is highly recommended to achieve optimal results. As collagen production continues to improve and the renewal process progresses in the weeks following treatment, you will continue to see a more even, refreshed, and radiant complexion.

Complementary Procedures

CoolPeel can pair with other treatments to further enhance your results, such as:

Radiofrequency (RF) Microneedling

RF microneedling can also target fine lines and wrinkles, mild skin laxity, and other imperfections. With Genius RF Microneedling’s advanced technology, gold-plated microneedles create controlled microchannels in the skin while delivering radiofrequency energy deep into the dermis, stimulating elastin and collagen production. RF microneedling can be effectively combined with CoolPeel to enhance results.

Microneedling

Microneedling uses fine needles to create micro-channels in the skin. This triggers the body to stimulate collagen and elastin production, which helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, sun damage, uneven texture, and more. With CoolPeel, this creates a powerful duo that addresses deep structural skin concerns as well as surface-level imperfections.

Neuromodulators

Neuromodulators are injectables that use botulinum toxin type A to block the nerve signals that cause the facial muscles to contract. This smooths fine lines and wrinkles across the forehead, between the eyebrows, and around the eyes. This can minimize wrinkles and their formation, revealing a more youthful look that complements CoolPeel results.
