About The Perfect Derma Peel
The Perfect Derma Peel is the only medical-grade chemical peel that harnesses the power of glutathione (1), an antioxidant effective against hyperpigmentation, melasma, sun damage, acne, and signs of aging across all skin tones and types. This ingredient is combined with skin-enhancing acids in a peel that safely and effectively penetrates the skin’s surface to the dermis, where transformation starts from the inside out. The Perfect Derma Peel works by exfoliating the damaged outer layers of skin, stimulating collagen production, and promoting cellular turnover. (2)
A notable advantage of The Perfect Derma Peel is its suitability for all skin tones and ethnicities, including darker skin types that are often at risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation from traditional chemical peels. (3) Its specialized formula, rich in skin-brightening and anti-inflammatory ingredients, minimizes this risk, making it a safe and versatile treatment option.
Synergistic Ingredients
- Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA): A medium-depth peeling agent that addresses wrinkles, scarring, and pigmentation issues.
- Salicylic Acid: A beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) that exfoliates the pores, making it highly effective for treating acne and oily skin.
- Phenol: A powerful antiseptic and numbing agent that creates a more comfortable experience.
- Retinoic Acid (Retinol): A vitamin A derivative that increases cell turnover, reduces fine lines, and promotes smoother skin texture.
- Vitamin C: Another potent antioxidant that aids in collagen synthesis and further brightens the complexion.
Benefits
The benefits of the Perfect Derma Peel treatment are extensive, contributing to optimal skin health and long-term aesthetic improvement.
Some of the primary benefits include:
- Brighter and Tighter Skin: The Perfect Derma Peel promotes a more youthful, radiant glow by removing dull, damaged surface cells and stimulating dermal regeneration.
- Reduced Fine Lines and Wrinkles: The blend of acids and retinol encourages collagen and elastin production, smoothes the texture of the skin, and improves firmness and elasticity.
- Minimized Hyperpigmentation and Sun Damage: This peel is highly effective for diminishing sun spots and discoloration.
- Cleared Acne and Reduces Scars: Salicylic acid deeply cleanses pores, while the peel softens acne scars for a smoother surface.

Preparation
For The Perfect Derma Peel, general preparation guidelines may include:
- Suspend Use of Retinoids: Stop using prescription-strength retinoids (like tretinoin) and over-the-counter retinol products a week ahead of your peel.
- Avoid Waxing/Depilatories: Do not wax, use depilatory creams, or undergo electrolysis on the treatment area for 5-7 days beforehand.
- Avoid Exfoliants: Stop using manual exfoliants (scrubs, cleansing brushes) and any chemical exfoliants a week before the procedure.
- Avoid Sun Exposure: Minimize direct sun exposure and discontinue the use of tanning beds for at least two weeks in advance of your appointment.
- Notify Your Clinician: If you have a history of cold sores, your clinician may prescribe an antiviral medication to take before and after the peel to suppress a potential outbreak.
Procedure
Your specialist applies The Perfect Derma Peel during a straightforward 15–30 minute session in the comfort of our New Image Plastic Surgery medspa. Your skin will be thoroughly cleansed, and then the solution will be applied in layers. Due to the peel’s phenol content, any initial stinging or tingling will quickly subside, and the remainder of the process will feel comfortable.
After the peel is evenly applied, you will leave the office with the peel on your skin. You will be given instructions to wash it off at home at a specific time, typically 6–8 hours later. We will provide you with a post-peel care kit, which includes The Perfect Post Peel Moisturizer and sunscreen, along with detailed instructions for application over the next several days.
Recovery
During the first couple of days after your peel, your skin may feel tight and appear red, like a sunburn. It is important that you follow the washing and moisturizing instructions you receive.
The peeling phase typically begins around day 3 and lasts for 3–7 days. Peeling usually starts around the mouth and nose and progresses outward. Do not pick at or peel the skin—allow the dead skin to shed naturally to prevent scarring, hyperpigmentation, or infection.
Throughout recovery, sun protection is crucial. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher daily, and wear a hat when outdoors. Avoid strenuous exercise that causes excessive sweating for the first 3–5 days of recovery. You should also avoid heat, saunas, and hot tubs. You can resume your normal skincare routine, including retinoids and exfoliants, only after the peeling completely subsides, usually around 7–10 days post-treatment.
Results
While some patients notice a refreshed glow immediately after the initial peeling subsides, the full, transformative results of The Perfect Derma Peel will emerge over the following weeks as collagen production increases. Fine lines soften, acne scars become less noticeable, and hyperpigmentation significantly fades. Skin is visibly smoother, brighter, and softer. Adhering to your treatment schedule and your at-home skincare routine will enhance and maintain your results.

FAQ
How long will my skin peel?
Peeling typically begins on day 3 and can last for 3–7 days, depending on your skin’s unique response and how thoroughly you adhere to the post-care instructions. Most patients are done with the visible peeling phase by day 7–10.
How many Perfect Derma Peel treatment sessions will I need?
While many patients see significant results after just one peel, a series of 2–4 peels, spaced approximately four weeks apart, usually provides ultimate results, especially for more severe issues like stubborn melasma, deeper acne scarring, or advanced signs of aging. Your specialist at New Image Plastic Surgery will recommend a personalized treatment plan.
Can I wear makeup during the peeling phase?
Your specialist will recommend avoiding makeup (especially foundation or powder) during the heavy peeling phase (days 3–7). Applying makeup can interfere with the natural shedding process, potentially lead to irritation, and draw attention to flaking skin. Once the peeling is complete, you may resume your regular makeup routine.
Does the Perfect Derma Peel hurt?
Patients report the Perfect Derma Peel as being extremely tolerable. You may feel a brief stinging or tingling sensation upon the initial application, but this quickly subsides as the phenol (a mild numbing agent) in the solution takes effect, making the remaining duration of the procedure comfortable.
