Who is a Good Candidate?
Men and women who have lines and creases that make them appear tired, angry, or sad can often benefit from injections. Candidates should be healthy, nonsmokers. Those who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not receive neuromodulator injections, as it is not known how they will affect the unborn baby. A consultation with Dr. Homas or Dr. Brostrom can help to decide if treatment with a neuromodulator is right for you.
These treatments quick and easy, only lasting about 15-20 minutes. A topical numbing cream may be applied to ensure a comfortable experience. Then, the neuromodulator will be injected into pre-determined points with a very small, fine needle.
Recovery and Results
With neuromodulators, there is no downtime after the session. Although, it is important to not touch or rub the treatment area as the formula is settling. It is recommended that patients avoid very strenuous activities for the rest of the day. Redness and swelling may occur at the treatment site but should resolve quickly. Results from your injections can last from 3-6 months before a touch-up appointment is needed.
