What is NeoGraft Hair restoration?
This proceeded to use a hair transplant system that is automated to harvest hair follicles. It harvests follicles one by one using the Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) method. These harvested hair follicles are placed into areas where hair loss has occurred. This elegant procedure is virtually scarless, virtually painless, completely safe, and more than 95% effective.
Who is a Candidate?
Hair loss affects men and women around the world and can be caused by age, genetics, or medical condition. Candidates for NeoGraft hair restoration are healthy individuals with a sufficient amount of hair on the back of the scalp. Having realistic goals for treatment and an optimistic outlook can also help you be a successful candidate.
Neograft hair restoration is a safe, effective method of treating hair loss that is gentle and involves little discomfort. Unlike the older “strip method” of hair restoration, NeoGraft’s individual follicle transplantation process results in no linear scar across the back of the scalp. The entire procedure requires two parts. The first is the harvesting of the hair and the second is placement.
In order to place hair, we need to harvest follicles first. Harvesting is done under local anesthesia with oral sedation. For the FUE method, the NeoGraft device uses a motorized punch that gently rotates around the hair graft. Next, the device uses gentle suction to slide the follicle out. The follicle is removed smoothly, with no pulling or twisting that could damage the hair follicle. The harvest sites are so small that they close on their own, and do not require any sutures. You can take a break after this portion of the procedure or go straight into the second part.
Next, we will place the harvested follicles. Patients are seated in an upright position and a local anesthetic is applied to the scalp. The follicles are then replanted into the area of balding, creating a more youthful, natural hairline. The amount of time this takes will depend on how much hair is missing and how many follicles should be placed.
After the NeoGraft procedure, patients can resume normal activity within the first few days. After about a week, the follicles will have safely rooted under the scalp. During the first seven to ten days, you might notice scabs where the grafts were placed. Results will continue to become more noticeable over the next several months as your hair grows, becoming thicker and fuller.
